Points of Pride

  • Students have come to IWP from across the United States as well as approximately 60 countries, the United States Armed Forces, and United States Government.
  • In 2008, IWP became one of 17 academic institutions qualified by the U.S. Army to host Senior Service Fellows.
  • 90% of students report that their alumni networking partner was able to provide insights or career advice that they otherwise would not have received.
  • IWP offers offer unlimited Yellow Ribbon tuition assistance to qualifying veterans, allowing them to earn their degree without incurring any out of pocket costs.
  • Students have the opportunity to participate in an intensive, four-week program of tutorials at the University of Oxford in England.
  • IWP is the only institution in the DC area which offers a Strategic Fellows program to the Army.
  • In 2015, IWP held nearly 100 events featuring guest lecturers, including George Little, former spokesman for the Pentagon and CIA; Ambassador John D. Negroponte, former Ambassador to the United Nations and former Director of National Intelligence; Lieutenant General John W. Nicholson, Commander of NATO's Allied Land Command; Michael H. Decker, former Assistant Director of Intelligence at the U.S. Marine Corps; and Jay Nordlinger, Senior Editor at National Review.
  • IWP's education is an important career booster, and IWP alumni serve in strategically crucial positions throughout the national security and international affairs communities.  For instance, alumni serve in leadership and management positions in such entities as the FBI, CIA, DIA, and Secret Service; the Departments of Defense, Energy, Homeland Security, Justice, State, and Treasury; the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard; Congressional offices; think tanks, academic institutions; and government contracting corporations. Two of our former Army War College Fellows are now generals.
