The Journal of Intelligence and Strategic Studies is a student-run academic journal of The Institute of World Politics. It is an outgrowth of the first IWP student journal, Active Measures (the name of which refers to a set of influence operations and propaganda -- disinformation and deception --used by the Soviet Union to persuade and to have a strategic impact).

M. Elise Hampton holds a Master's degree in International Cooperation with a focus in security studies from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. While attending Yonsei's Graduate School of International Studies, she served as the layout editor and the print editor for theYonsei Academic Journal of International Studies, informally known as "Paper, Essays and Reviews" or PEAR. She is currently working on a Master's degree at The Institute of World Politics in Washington, D.C.
Copy Editor - Academic: Brandon Weichert
Brandon J. Weichert was born in South Bend, IN and raised in Ft. Myers, FL. After spending 2006-2008 working on and off various Republican campaigns in the Orlando area, he moved up to Chicago, IL where he attended DePaul University, majoring in Political Science with a concentration in US foreign policy toward China. Serving as both Staff Assistant and Legislative Correspondent for Congressman Ted S. Yoho (FL-3), Brandon intends to work in the foreign policy area.
This desire and a natural love for foreign affairs, politics, and history led Brandon to enroll in The Institute of World Politics in Fall of 2014. After completion of his degree, he hopes to continue furthering his legislative and policy experience to one day assist in running for higher office.

Samuel Greenwood is from Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from The Citadel in 2009, and served as an Infantry Officer in the Marine Corps from 2009-2013. He is currently pursuing an M.A. in Strategic Intelligence Studies at IWP.
