Meet Mike Mattson, Class of 2010
Mike Mattson, IWP Class of 2010 and one of the first graduates in the M.A. in Strategic Intelligence Studies program, had the privilege of studying with Professors Dr. David Thomas, Brian Kelley, Gene Poteat, Kenneth deGraffenreid and other legends from within the US government. While attending Professor Thomas' Counterintelligence in a Democratic Society course, Mike decided to develop a paper based on open source research, focusing on the well documented possibility of the existence of a "fourth mole," or a spy yet to be caught within the intelligence community.
Full Spectrum Diplomacy and Grand Strategy launched at IWP
On May 17, IWP Founder and President John Lenczowski gave a book lecture for his new book entitled Full Spectrum Diplomacy and Grand Strategy: Reforming the Structure and Culture of US Foreign Policy. He explained that he was motivated to write this book because he believes that there are many tools of statecraft which have been systematically unused or underused by US national security policymakers. The failure to use these tools is also why he founded the Institute, which has courses on public diplomacy, political warfare, and the other instruments of power.
