Emergency management (disaster management) is the work of avoiding and dealing with both natural and man-made disasters. It involves preparedness, response and recovery plans made to lessen the impact of disasters, ensure continuity of operations and society, and to make sure recovery is swift, effective, sustaining and creates improvements. What many do not know is that this work also involves intelligence analysis, threat assessments, incident coordination and management, strategic planning and much more. This seminar will discuss the field of emergency management and the careers opportunities available.
