A former NASA space flight engineer and a former Air Force officer who ran military satellites for the U.S. Space Command (SPACECOM) spoke at Professor Walter Jajko's April 27 class on Military Strategy: The Art of War.

James Oberg, who was an engineer for the Space Shuttle and International Space Station programs and is a widely published author on space flight, addressed IWP students from his long NASA career. He is also an expert on the Soviet/Russian space program.

The other speaker, Brig. Gen. Pete Worden USAF (Ret.), was deputy director of operations at SPACECOM and is a noted authority on military satellites and missile defense. He also served as director of the Office of Strategic Influence (OSI), the short-lived unit in the Office of the Secretary of Defense created after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The presentations were open only to IWP students and invitees.
