Intermarium Lecture Series

Intermarium Jagiellonians EnglishThe Intermarium Lecture Series was launched in September 2011 by the Kosciuszko Chair of Polish Studies. The series is dedicated to the history, culture, and geopolitics of the Intermarium - i.e. the large Central and Eastern European region located between the Baltic, Adriatic, and Black Seas -- which Dr. Marek Chodakiewicz, the current holder of the Kosciuszko Chair, has dubbed "the eastern borderlands of the West."

The first Intermarium Lecture took place on September 7, 2011, and is summarized here.

Much of the historical background on the Intermarium was provided by Dr. Chodakiewicz in his monograph entitled Intermarium: The Land between the Black and Baltic Seas (Piscataway, NJ: Transaction Publishers, 2012).
