On June 26, over 30 students from the Belgian Command and General Staff College visited IWP for a seminar on "U.S. Organized and Coordinated Counterterrorism Response" with IWP professors. The visiting students hailed from Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.
After a welcome by founder and president John Lenczowski, IWP faculty members discussed the structure of U.S. counterterrorism efforts, the interagency response, and gaps and challenges in the U.S. response. Participating professors included Dr. Mackubin Owens, IWP Dean, Colonel, USMC-retired and former Professor of National Security Affairs at the U.S. Naval War College and Prof. David Thomas, a veteran of the U.S. Intelligence Community.
The Belgian delegation was led by Air Force Lieutenant General Ir Jan Hennes, Director General of Human Resources and Director General of Education ad interim and Brigadier General Johan Andries, the Defense, Military, Naval & Air Attaché for the Belgian Embassy. The visit was organized by IWP Senior Vice President Christopher D. Glass, Sr., Captain, USN-Retired.
