Dr. Juliana Pilon, alongside top speakers from around the world, will serve on the faculty of the Common Sense Society's Summer Leadership Academy this August, where she will lead a course entitled "Nationalism, Supranationalism, and State Sovereignty."
A group of young leaders and thinkers will convene for the academy in Bercel Kastély in Nógrád County, Hungary. The program will take place August 7-11, and participants will gain theoretical grounding in philosophy, economics, politics, and law, while also refining practical skills in workshops and simulations.
This is the second Summer Leadership Academy hosted by Common Sense Society, and the second year that Dr. Pilon has participated on the faculty. The CSS is a privately funded nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting civic engagement, entrepreneurship, and the ideals of responsible liberty among university students and young professionals in Hungary. CSS believes that the civic education and political engagement of young people is a crucial aspect of Hungary's transition from a post-communist state towards a truly free and prosperous society.
Dr. Pilon, who heads IWP's Center for Culture and Security, will return to teach the Institute's course on Nationalism and Islamism this fall.
