IWP adjunct professor Norman Bailey is currently on sabbatical in Israel, teaching and doing research for the University of Haifa's Center for National Security Studies and working with the University's Jewish Arab Center on issues of economic development for the Arab-Israeli community.
I look forward to giving my Economic Statecraft course at the Israeli Defense College and doing research on significant subjects related to aspects of the course. The Center is considering establishing the first research center on Geo-Economics in the world. I am also very excited to be directing the economic aspects of a five-year program to bring the Arab-Israeli inhabitants of the city of Acre into full involvement with Israeli society through training, hi-tech development and the establishment of a community investment trust with participation of all ethnic and religious groups.
He will be there through the spring semester, and will return in the summer. At the Institute, Prof. Bailey teaches courses on Economic Statecraft and Conflict and Economics for Foreign Policy Makers.
