The Institute of World Politics is pleased to announce Joe C. Hayes Scholarships, which will be available for the 2014-15 school year.
These scholarships, which were established in Mr. Hayes' honor by his late wife Marjorie, will be for qualified students taking eight or more credits per semester, and will be in the amounts of $1,100 and $2,200 per semester.
"Joe and Margie rendered distinguished service to this country for many years," commented IWP President John Lenczowski.
"Through their work at the U.S. Agency for International Development and their experience living in many places abroad, particularly Latin America, they became great authorities in cross cultural communication and cultural diplomacy. Joe and Margie worked on major foreign assistance programs that were an essential part of America's overall Cold War strategy. They are models of effective service for our students."
New M.A. students who applied to IWP before the scholarship deadline of April 15 will be considered for a Joe C. Hayes scholarship for both summer and fall semesters. Returning students who applied for a scholarship will also be considered.
