The Institute of World Politics is pleased to announce a new Friends of the Library program, through which alumni and supporters of the school can support the IWP library.
Through this new annual giving program, friends of the Institute who are dedicated to enhancing the library as a center of learning and research can also obtain borrowing privileges at the library.
"Our library serves as an essential resource for our students," comments Library Manager Dmitry Kulik. "We look forward to expanding the community of friends of the library as we continue to grow and update our collection."
The IWP library is home to the personal collection of former Director of Central Intelligence William J. Casey, and recently received the collection of the late Professor Brian Kelley, who served for many years as an intelligence officer in the Air Force and CIA. It also has over 43,000 books that have been carefully selected and geared towards national security and international affairs issues.
This year, the library will expand its collection even further by adding numerous books from the Center for Security Policy and several other major contributors. In the future, the library hopes to upgrade its shelving units to expand the number of books that can be held in the library, as well as to add other valuable electronic database to support the growing curriculum. In addition, several more computer workstations for students will be added to the library study area during this year.
You can become a Friend of the Library by making a $300 contribution, or, if you have received a Certificate or Master's degree from IWP, you can join the program by making a $50 donation. To join online, please click here, and indicate "Library" in the comments field.
