Prince Sahle-Selassie discusses background of the upheaval in Arab Africa

Prince Ermias Sahle-SelassieOn Thursday, April 28, 2011, Prince Ermias Sahle-Selassie Haile Selassie, President of the Crown Council of Ethiopia and an advisory board member of IWP's Center for Culture and Security, spoke at IWP about "Africa's Multicultural Tradition: Key to Understanding the Upheaval in Arab Africa."

He discussed the various factors affecting social and political change in Africa, including history, social media, etc.

Following his remarks, he answered questions from students and friends of the Institute about the role of the ethiopian church in terms of working towards greater freedom, emerging leaders in Africa, Ethiopia's role in securing Somalia, and how the US should approach Africa in terms of foreign policy.
