Globalization and Urbanization: Trends and Dynamics

This course focuses on the study of global urbanization trends, given prevailing impacts of globalization and local cultural dynamics. Through geographical analysis, history, sociology, and statistical analyses, the course will identify major issues affecting global urbanization and challenges for global governance. Specific emphasis will be on study of urban indicators, and case studies of cities. Stereotypical perceptions of cities, as portrayed in several media, will be explored. The major course assignment will involve students being assigned a city in which to do a major intelligence briefing for the class, within a specified set of parameters.

Intelligence Collection

This course is designed to familiarize students with the nature, organization, activities, and key issues surrounding the variety of methods of intelligence and counterintelligence collection.
