LTC Gladys Constantia Turnbull, a native of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, graduated from Virginia State University in 1987 as a Distinguished Military Graduate with a BA in Accounting and a BS in Information Systems; commissioned as a Military Intelligence Officer. Gladys later received a Masters of Accounting and Financial Management; Masters in Information Systems Management and Masters in Network and Communications from Keller Graduate School of Management, Devry University, she continues graduate work to achieve Chief Information Officer Certificate from National Defense University.

A life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and community supporter; Gladys work as an Programmer, Systems Analyst and Internal Control Officer for Chase Manhattan Bank (1992- 1999); Information Systems Technician for the Virgin Islands National Guard from SEP 1999 until JAN 2013 when she transition to Logistics Management Specialist as the Deputy G4.

LTC Turnbull has spent the last 27 years in the intelligence and operations field as an MDAY trooper; positions held have been Director of Operations and Training (J3), Joint Task Force Guantanamo; Battalion Commander, 786th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion; Executive officer, 786th Quartermaster (Water Supply) Battalion; Deputy Mayor, Camp Taji, Iraq; S3, 786th Quartermaster (WS) BN; Commander, 631st Engineers Detachment; S2, 2nd Infantry Division, Korea; Commander, Special Security Detachment-McClellan and Watch officer, Pentagon.

Awards and decorations include Joint Service Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal and Army Service ribbon; Paratrooper Badge; ILE (PME1) military education qualified. Gladys was recently selected to attend resident War College at the Institute on World Politics. Her current assignment is as Training Division Chief, Directorate of Operations and Training, Joint Force Headquarters, Virgin Islands National Guards.

Her future goals are to obtain Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification; Level II Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) certification and maintain her Information Technology certification in CISSP, A+, Network+ and Security+. Career goals are to obtain a directorship at US Army Cyber Command or combatant commander. Gladys is looking forward to meeting President Obama soon and enjoys working with kids and sailing the Caribbean.
