On October 7 at 4:30 PM, IWP will hold a book event for Professor Douglas Streusand.  Prof. Streusand will be speaking about his new book, The Islamic Gunpowder Empires in World History: Ottomans, Safavids, Mughals.

On Thursday, July 22nd at 4:30 p.m. Ambassador Vince Obsitnik, former U.S. Ambassador to the Slovak Republic, will speak at IWP.

On Tuesday, July 20th, Burton L. Gerber will speak at IWP on "The Ethics of Intelligence: During the Cold War and the Age of Terrorism."  The lecture will take place at 4:30, followed by a reception.

The Institute of World Politics's Center for the Study of Culture and Security is pleased to host the second annual training briefings in public diplomacy for new warrant officer bandmasters and Army band officers from the U.S. Army School of Music, Naval Amphibious Base (Little Creek), Norfolk VA.

On June 22 at 4:30 PM, Dr. Sebastian Gorka, Assistant Professor of Irregular Warfare at the National Defense University, will discuss, "The New Terrorist Threat: Why Al Qaeda is Different." The event will take place at IWP.

Please join us for a luncheon presentation at IWP on Monday, June 14th by Prof. Henry Sokolski, who will be discussing his latest publication, Reviewing the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT), which he edited and the results of the most recent NPT Review Conference, which concluded its business May 28, 2010. The luncheon will begin at 12:00, and the lecture will begin at 12:30 p.m. in IWP's main building.

IWP 2010 Commencement will take place at the Mayflower Hotel on Saturday, June 5, at 2:00 PM.  Ambassador Hugh Montgomery, veteran CIA official, will be the speaker.

General John K. Singlaub, former OSS officer and founding member of the Central Intelligence Agency, will speak at IWP on May 20 at 6:00 PM.  A reception will follow at 7:00 pm. 

On Tuesday, May 18 at 6:00 PM, Zainab Al-Suwaij, co-founder and Executive Director of the American Islamic Congress (AIC), will discuss "How Islamists are hurting Muslims, and what we can do about it."   The lecture will take place at IWP, and a reception will follow at 7:00 PM. 

This Thursday, April 29, Dr. Barbara P. Billauer, IWP Research Professor of Scientific Statecraft, will be hosting a brown bag lunch and lecture at IWP on "Benjamin Franklin - First Statesman of the United States of America and the Father of Scientific Statecraft."
