Registration

Course registration is now done through EMPOWER.  Please click here to learn more.

Paper registrations will only be used for courses that require a petition (i.e. Directed Studies, Honor's Thesis, or instructor approval/permission).

Tuition must be paid in full by the first class session. Registrations received after the published deadline will be subject to a late registration fee.

Please note: Registration of students who are non-U.S. citizens into certain classes is contingent upon the consent of the professor.

Message from the Registrar: Spring 2014 Registration

Hello!                                                                                                            

As you know the Spring 2014 schedule of classes has been posted to the IWP website for planning purposes.  Spring 2014 registration will begin (via EMPOWER) on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 12:00am.  The deadline for initial Spring 2014 registration (for continuing students) is December 15, 2013 at 11:59pm.  Newly admitted students will be able to complete their initial registrations until January 12, 2014.  The Add/Drop period for the Spring 2014 term will be January 13-January 17th.  You will not be able to make any registration changes via EMPOWER after January 17, 2014.

Important Announcements and Tips:

  • Please be sure to resolve any holds that may restrict you from registration, i.e. Business Office hold, Multiple Incomplete Grade hold, Immunization Record not on file, etc. EMPOWER will give you an error message and you will not be able to complete your registration transaction if you have any holds on your account.
  • Continuous Enrollment- (THIS IS ONLY FOR STUDENTS THAT ARE NOT TAKING CLASSES AND ARE STUDYING/COMPLETING COMPREHENSIVE EXAMS OR ARE MAKING UP INCOMPLETE GRADES) You must maintain continuous enrollment in order to maintain your graduate standing at the Institute. If you fail to maintain continuous enrollment (or officially request a leave of absence), you will be required to reapply for graduate admission and pay the readmission application fee. Students must be enrolled in the semester in which they are scheduled to graduate. For example, if a student has completed all of his or her coursework in the Spring, and will be taking the comprehensive exams in the Fall, the student MUST register for continuous enrollment during the Fall term to be considered an enrolled student and thus eligible for Fall graduation. This policy also applies to students that are completing Incompletes (from previous semesters) during the term in which they wish to graduate. Please contact the Registrar about registered for continuous enrollment. The Continuous Enrollment fee is $50.
