“The mission of AGS dovetails nicely with that of IWP — we both want to help shape the next generation of strategists who will shape American’s role in the world going forward. We think that our students will want to take advantage of IWP’s expertise in this area to better prepare themselves for careers in this field.”
– Dr. Peter Feaver, Professor of Political Science at Duke
In January 2018, The Institute of World Politics (IWP) entered into a partnership agreement with Duke University’s American Grand Strategy Program (AGS) based on a mutual desire to educate future leaders in national security and international affairs.
The agreement with Duke University states that Duke graduates who enroll in an in-person M.A. or Certificate program at IWP will receive a guaranteed $2,200 scholarship per semester, in addition to any merit-based scholarships they receive. Both part-time and full-time M.A. students are eligible for this scholarship. If Duke graduates enroll in IWP’s distance programs, they will receive a tuition reduction from $650 to $500 per credit hour. Duke students will also be considered for Early Admittance if they apply to IWP after April 30 of their third undergraduate (Junior) year.
As per the partnership agreement, IWP will also reserve spots in its internship program for Duke students. Duke University will advertise IWP programs to its students and make them aware of the opportunities for Duke students at IWP. Duke and IWP will also engage in faculty exchange lectures, allowing them to share ideas and collaborate in scholarship relating to national security and international affairs. IWP will also regularly host Duke students for campus tours.
