IWP and the United States Navy Information Dominance N2/N6 command partner to advance the Information Warfare Community

As the National Intelligence Program resource sponsor and the Military Intelligence Program component manager for Navy intelligence capabilities, N2/N6 is the Navy’s primary office for resourcing such capabilities as intelligence, cyber warfare, command and control, electronic warfare, battle management, oceanography and meteorology. Its mission is to provide end-to-end accountability for Navy information requirements, investments, capabilities and forces. It is also tasked with directing the efforts of military and civilian professionals that make up the Information Warfare Corps and supply warfare commanders with Assured Command and Control, Battlespace Awareness, and Integrated Fires.

The Institute of World Politics (IWP) is an accredited graduate school of national security, intelligence, and international affairs, dedicated to developing leaders with a sound understanding of international realities and the ethical conduct of statecraft and intelligence tradecraft, based on knowledge and appreciation of the founding principles of the American political economy and the Western moral tradition.

Located in the heart of Washington, D.C. offering five in-person Master of Arts degree programs in: Statecraft and International Affairs, Statecraft and International Affairs, Statecraft and National Security Affairs, Strategic Intelligence, Strategic and International Studies, and National Security Affairs, offering a significant time and dollars savings for IWC warfare-qualified personnel and Intelligence Community (IC) civilian analysts.

OPNAV N2/N6 has reviewed the curricula of all five in-person IWP MA programs and will grant a 2400 Subspecialty in Strategic Intelligence to IWC graduates.  These resident MA programs are open to all members of the IWC, officer/enlisted, active/reserve, and IC civilian analysts and offer significant tuition savings.

IWP is a Yellow Ribbon Program school

IWP provides supplemental assistance to 100% benefit-eligible post-9/11 recipients through a mutual partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs.  Through this agreement, IWP will provide scholarship funds, in addition to matching funds provided by the VA, to cover the remaining cost of tuition and mandatory fees (provided that the student has exhausted his/her initial post-9/11 eligibility for the given school year). Finally, there is full time Career Assistance for Veterans and a campus Student Veterans Association.

IWP accepts Navy Tuition Assistance

If a student uses the standard $250 per credit hour Navy Tuition Assistance, IWP also matches that total as well, creating even more savings!  Example: A student using USN Tuition Assistance can get $500 of the $1200 credit hour paid for by the Navy and IWP ($250 USN TA + $250 IWP matching funds)

IWP and the United States Naval War College

The College of Distance Education’s (CDE) Fleet Seminar Program (FSP) students in the Washington, D.C. area may take approved IWP courses towards a Naval War College Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies or Defense and Strategic Studies degrees.  IWP maintains a close relationship with the NWC which has historically granted equivalency to over 90 percent of IWP’s courses for those students wishing to take IWP courses for their NWC CDE elective requirement.  NWC course approval can be found at  https://usnwc.edu/college-of-distance-education/Graduate-Degree-Program/Request-for-Approval-of-Elective-Course

The estimated time for completion is 1-3 years, depending on the program selected and the student’s work pace. Students attending the Institute attend small, seminar-style classes, where the student/faculty ratio is 11:1.They learn from a distinguished faculty of scholar-practitioners with significant, high-level experience in policymaking and intelligence acumen. Many classes also feature guest lecturers, many of whom are current and former senior government officials who impart their practical knowledge.
