On November 19, a group of IWP students and staff joined students from Marymount University for a guided tour of Gettysburg National Military Park and to observe the 142nd anniversary of President Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.
IWP Adjunct Professor Charles Smith, a historian, organized the visit as part of an annual trip for his Civil War history students from Marymount. After touring the sites of major engagements of the 1863 battle, Prof. Smith recited and discussed the Gettysburg Address in the national cemetery.
