IWP Trustee Amb. Aldona Wos speaks at Heritage

IWP Trustee Ambassador Aldona Wos discussed “Past and Present: Estonia and U.S. Partnership” on October 23rd, 2009 at the Heritage Foundation.

Ambassador Wos served as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia from 2004-2006, and has many insights concerning relations between Estonia and the U.S., some of which she shared with IWP students, faculty, staff, and friends last April.

Of her talk at Heritage, John Lenczowski remarked: “Amb. Wos’ presentation of the importance of public diplomacy as a vital instrument of American foreign policy has indicated with excellence the Institute’s decision to bestow upon her a Doctorate of Laws Honoris Causa. Of all the U.S. Ambassadors in recent years, she is surely one of the most creative and pathbreaking in her understanding and practice of the public diplomatic arts.”

Ambassador Sven Jürgenson (Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Estonia, and Ambassador to the United States from Estonia, 2000-2003) also spoke at the event.
