IWP welcomes largest intern class in its history

IWP Interns, Spring 2010This spring, The Institute of World Politics has welcomed seventeen interns to participate in the academic life of the Institute, conduct research, and help with administrative tasks.

IWP interns from colleges, universities, and graduate schools around the nation.  These included two interns from the Fund for American Studies, and three from the Washington Center for Internships.  Several international interns are also participating in the program this semester – from Poland, Belgium, Hungary, Kosovo, and France.

The interns not only are permitted to attend certain classes at IWP, but they have a packed schedule, which includes tours of various Washington landmarks, exclusive brown bag lunches with professors and other outside speakers, “Ambassador Breakfasts,” attendance at other IWP educational events, and intern debates.

Interns are typically assigned to a faculty member, whom they help with research, and they each write their own research paper that is due towards the end of the semester.

The deadline for the applications to the summer internship program at IWP is March 17th.
