On October 23-24, a group of IWP’s top supporters gathered in Washington, D.C. for the annual Chancellor’s Council Meeting.

The event began with a kickoff reception at IWP’s Marlatt Mansion, which included remarks and a toast by Chancellor’s Council member Jackie Wieland.

On October 24th, IWP faculty, students, and alumni presented a series of talks on various topics, including Russian military doctrine; economic statecraft in the U.S., Russia, and China; the beliefs of America’s founding fathers; and the foreign intelligence threat.

The program also included a special session on the future of the Institute, in which IWP President John Lenczowski, Vice Chairman John Lovewell, and Dean Frank Marlo discussed the school’s plans for the future and the structures that are in place to achieve these plans. Carolyn Kley Fanning, CPA, President and Founder of Planned Giving Solutions, Inc., also participated and shared how supporters could become more deeply involved with IWP’s mission, while at the same time increasing their income and lowering their taxes.

The event culminated with a dinner at the historic Willard InterContinental. Amb. Aldona Wos served as the Master of Ceremonies, and John Lovewell offered the invocation. Guests heard briefly from an IWP student who had received the Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Woś Family Foundation Scholarship about her experience thus far at IWP.

Dr. Michael Pillsbury, Director of the Center for Chinese Strategy at the Hudson Institute and IWP Professor, gave the keynote address. Dr. Pillsbury, whom President Trump recently described as “the leading authority on China,” discussed themes from his bestselling book, The Hundred-Year Marathon: China’s Secret Strategy to Replace America as the Global Superpower. He shared anecdotes from his time in government, commented on the current situation with China, and took several questions from guests.

IWP is grateful to the members of our Chancellor’s Council, whose support makes possible the work of our faculty and the education of our students. In turn, this education has enabled so many of our graduates to make significant impacts in government and the private sector to protect America and decent civilization for generations to come.
