Ashland University and The Institute of World Politics (IWP) have joined forces to provide you with an unparalleled education experience that focuses on Russia, China, cyber intelligence, and geopolitical aspects. Our mission is to equip Ashland University students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in international affairs and national security.

Understanding Built on Shared Values and Excellence
In August 2021, IWP and Ashland University signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form a partnership for international affairs education. This partnership offers numerous benefits to Ashland University students and graduates, such as:
– $2,200 scholarship per semester for students in IWP’s in-person M.A. programs, if accepted within IWP admissions guidelines. This scholarship does not preclude you from additional IWP merit-based scholarships.
– Tuition reduction from $650 to $500 per credit hour if enrolled in IWP’s distance programs
– Early Assurance – Apply on (or after) April 30th of 3rd year of college
– Ashland students will receive priority consideration for IWP’s internship program

– Cyber Statecraft and Intelligence: Gain an understanding of the cyber domain, cyber threats, and how intelligence organizations address these challenges. Learn from real-world examples of cyber-attacks against countries and corporations and how to counter them.
– Russian Politics and Strategy: Analyze Russia’s foreign policy, military strategy, and the Kremlin’s decision-making process. Understand the geopolitical implications of Russia’s actions on the world stage, such as its invasion of Ukraine and interference in foreign elections.
– Chinese Grand Strategy: Examine China’s expanding global influence and strategic objectives, including its military modernization, economic expansion, and the Belt and Road Initiative. Explore the impact of China’s rise on the international system and regional security.
