IWP students recently elected officers for the 2017-18 Student Government Association. The new officers will assume their positions beginning on May 20.

A school for national security and international affairs, IWP has several alumni who are entrepreneurs – among them Olivia Goldstein of RepHike, Hampton Stephens of World Politics Review, and Robert Turner of PEGASAT.

John Scimone (’10) recently accepted a position as Chief Security Officer at Dell.  In this role, he will lead the company’s global corporate security program, aiding Dell’s businesses in the management of security risk across the physical and cyber domains. 

IWP Alumnus Marcio Coimbra (’15) will take over as a political columnist for Brazilian paper O Tempo (The Times) this week.  

On January 10, alumnus Mark Beall received the Secretary of Defense Exceptional Civilian Service Award. This award is the highest level career medaled award given by the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Olivia Goldstein (’14) recently launched a new company, RepHike, which is a community of technologists and innovators solving challenges faced by startups and companies.

Institute of World Politics graduate Joe Smith* received the Counterintelligence Collections Individual Award at the Department of Defense Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Awards ceremony for his outstanding effort in compiling vital military intelligence.
