The cyber security industry has rapidly expanded and permeated every area of government and private industry. Cyber threat intelligence receives significant attention in the media, but the complexity of the digital landscape is challenging to understand. Students of this course will leverage critical thinking skills to become trusted advisors and credible analysts in a field that is constantly evolving.
This course first looks at the strategic necessity of understanding nation-state cyber threat intelligence and then considers the applications at the operational level. Case studies include campaigns attributed to China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea, as well as other threat actors. The course includes a look at tactical applications of threat intelligence across public and private sectors.
The skills needed to succeed in the cyber security industry are varied, and cyber threat intelligence is one of the specialized skillsets that is often underutilized in security programs. This course equips students to better understand cyber threat intelligence at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels.
