This lecture is part of a series on the Intermarium, organized by the Kosciuszko Chair of Polish Studies at IWP.
Ms. Akopyan will briefly review the history of Armenia from the end of early modern period to today. She will discuss current natural resources, cultural elements, environmental issues, foreign relations with neighboring countries, and ongoing regional conflicts, and will offer thoughts on how Armenia may look like in the near future.
Anna Akopyan is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Statecraft and International Affairs with a specialization in American Foreign Policy at The Institute of World Politics. As a government contractor, she is the Victim-Witness Liaison for the Office of International Affairs, a component of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Global Studies with a concentration in World Environment from Assumption College, Worcester, Massachusetts.
Ms. Akopyan was born and exiled from Baku, Azerbaijan, during the Nagorno-Karabagh War, to Krasnodar, Russia. She grew up in Burlington, Vermont.
