This lecture is part of a series on the Intermarium, organized by the Kosciuszko Chair of Polish Studies at IWP.

At this lecture, Dr. Chodakiewicz will discuss the significance of several new books on the history of modern Poland:

Unvanquished: Joseph Pilsudski, Resurrected Poland, and the Struggle for Eastern Europe by Peter Hetherington describes Joseph Pilsudski, the strongman of interwar Poland.

Between the Brown and the Red: Nationalism, Catholicism, and Communism in Twentieth-Century Poland by Mikolaj Stanislaw Kunicki is about Boleslaw Piasecki, an interwar radical nationalist who became a communist collaborator after WWII.

Iron Curtain: The Crushing of Eastern Europe, 1944-1956 by Anne Applebaum discusses the Soviet occupation of Central and Eastern Europe.
