Famed CIA veteran and leading intelligence authority Hayden B. Peake spoke at The Institute of World Politics on Friday, October 16, 2009.
Hayden Peake, who holds advanced degrees from Rochester Institute of Technology and Georgetown University, is the author of numerous works on intelligence, including The Reader’s Guide to Intelligence Periodicals, The Annotated Bibliography of Intelligence Literature, and numerous scholarly articles. He has also edited or contributed to numerous other works on various aspects of intelligence history. Prof. Peake has lectured at Cambridge University and the National Defense Intelligence College. Currently, Prof. Peake is the Curator of CIA’s Historical Documents Collection.
Prof. Peake’s remarks concentrated on the Venona documents, the Cambridge Five spies, and the Atomic Spies. Though his lecture was part of the regular syllabus for “Spies, Subversion, Terrorism and Influence Operations,” other IWP students and members of the public were invited to attend.
IWP Dean and Kosciuszko Professor of Polish Studies Dr. Marek Jan Chodakiewicz introduced Prof. Peake and presented him with a certificate honoring his many years of service to IWP as a guest lecturer and for his many contributions to intelligence education.
