About the Lecture: This event will review the prosecution of cyber wars and the possibility of practicing deterrence, diplomacy, and offense and defense in a dynamic, constantly-shifting domain. The speaker will discuss how cyber warfare has evolved the norms of conflict and changed all forms of future warfare.
About the Speaker: Ms. Sana Saleh is currently lending her national security, cyber policy, strategic development, legal, and management consulting expertise to the Department of Homeland Security as a director. Previously, she was Special Advisor to four-star Pentagon leadership from 2012 to 2017. She served as Senior Advisor in the Office of the Secretary of Defense where she proposed and implemented detailed recommendations, DoD-wide strategic initiatives, and reforms, which were adopted by the Deputy Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Defense. Ms. Saleh previously served as Special Advisor to the Army Secretary and Undersecretary from 2012 to 2015. Prior to this, she served as Special Adviser to the Army General Counsel and worked directly with the Secretary managing controversies—both short-suspense and crisis-driven – and long term initiatives. Additionally, Ms. Saleh initiated and managed the first Cyber Policy portfolio for the Office of the Secretary of the Army.
