After introductory remarks by IWP President John Lenczowski, Dr. Marek Chodakiewicz will deliver the Second Annual Kosciuszko Chair Lecture at The Institute of World Politics on Saturday, November 14th, 2009. He will be addressing, "Transformation, 1988-1992: The Case of Poland." The lecture will take place at 2:00 p.m.
Following Dr. Chodakiewicz's remarks, the Institute will host a discussion on current events at 3:00. Dr. Sebastian L. V. Gorka will speak about missile defense, energy security, and other challenges of East Central Europe (ECE). He is an Assistant Professor for Irregular Warfare in the College of International Security Affairs at National Defense University , as well as an Associate Fellow for Joint Special Operations University (USSOCOM).
The event will conclude with a reception at 4:00.
Dr. Chodakiewicz is the Academic Dean and a Professor of History at The Institute of World Politics. He currently holds the Kosciuszko Chair of Polish Studies at IWP, which was formally inaugurated at IWP on November 7, 2008. The Chair has been partially endowed by The American Institute of Polish Culture.
