Paul Michael Wihbey is president of GWEST LLC (Global Water and Energy Strategy Team), a Washington-based consulting firm, founded in late 2002, specializing in strategic resources such as oil, gas, uranium and water.
He is a recognized authority and published author on the global oil market including unconventional fuels like oil sands and shale, as well as the importance hydrocarbon jurisdictions such as West Africa, Western Canada, and the Persian Gulf/MENA regions.
Since the establishment of GWEST, he has written numerous articles, testified to the US Congress, and provided in-person briefings to senior government officials and political leaders in the United States, Canada, Africa, and Latin America, including the Presidents of Nigeria, Ecuador, Sao Tome & Principe and, Congo/Brazzaville.
In 2012, he has been an invited keynote speaker at energy and investment conferences in Singapore, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, Toronto, Geneva, Zurich and Lagos, Nigeria.
