Mr. Sobchenko will discuss information he gathered on his recent trips to Ukraine, in which he met with a wide variety of Ukrainians from different regions, social strata, and political affiliations.
Alexei Sobchenko, currently a Washington, D.C.-based translator and interpreter, has served for over ten years as a translator and interpreter for the U.S. Department of State, both in D.C. and Moscow. Previously, he worked as a journalist with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, where he was based in Munich, Germany and Prague, Czech Republic. He holds an M.A. in Modern and 20th Century History from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MGU).
