Mr. Steven Bolt
Friday, April 9th, 2021
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM ET
**This event will also be streamed live on Facebook.**
This event is part of The Cyber Intelligence Initiative Series sponsored by The Institute of World Politics.
About the lecture: From the recent Solarwinds breach and Weblogic vulnerabilities to high profile security events and concerns over personal network protections, the last several years have thrust cybersecurity into the forefront. Executives are faced with the challenge of understanding the needs of cybersecurity from a business and a personal perspective. This lecture will address developing a program, security culture, benefits of a mature team, challenges with talent, certifications and alignment (NIST, ISO, IEC), funding, outreach, benefits, geopolitical concerns/challenges of a remote workforce, and addressing concerns over home network protections.
About the speaker: Mr. Steven Bolt has more than 20 years of experience in the Information Security field with strong expertise in information security leadership, digital forensics/incident response, cyber threat intelligence, and risk mitigation strategies. For the last several years, Mr. Bolt has had the pleasure to lead the cybersecurity team at Bechtel, establishing and maintaining a mature program that is recognized industry-wide. Taking a data-driven approach, Mr. Bolt has developed and deployed several initiatives that have enhanced security telemetry, extended security beyond network borders, deployed an early warning system, and created value-added information-sharing programs with his business partners. These programs and others have developed into a comprehensive paradigm that is unique in the field but provides a business differentiator for the executives and business development managers.
