During my time with The Institute of World Politics, I served as a research assistant and intern. My time spent with this prestigious graduate school has been nothing but beneficial. From meeting with alumni and career services to attending lectures taught by experts in their craft, this internship has broadened my horizons and shown me many avenues of success. The Institute has provided my fellow interns and me with countless opportunities to connect with current and former top government officials who have imparted their wisdom and professional advice to our intern class.
As an undergraduate student, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. I asked questions like, “What are my career options, and how can I make lifelong connections with professionals in my intended career path?” IWP put those fears to rest, provided answers to my questions, and inspired me to take my future into my own hands. Meetings with alumni who had been in my shoes before gave me the necessary tools to expand my knowledge.
While my time with the Institute was brief, it gave me the chance to shine like no other internship would have. At any company or government entity, the ability to lead with confidence is highly sought after. While some places have their interns fetch coffee, the IWP interns are instead enabled to lead and hone their skills, which will put them lightyears ahead of their competition. Had I been given the opportunity to do it all over again, I absolutely would, without hesitation.
