My internship at The Institute of World Politics was one of the most rewarding experiences I have had in my life thus far, for multiple reasons. From the very first day of orientation, I felt welcomed into an environment that was professionally ambitious and deeply supportive. The IWP community is truly something special, and the relationships I built during my semester here will be among my most cherished memories.
One of the biggest highlights of this experience were my incredible supervisors who went above and beyond to ensure that every intern was immersed in engaging opportunities. Their commitment to every intern’s growth was evident through the various activities planned for us every day. Spanning from insightful lectures to enriching tours and events, each day at IWP was something I was truly excited to participate in. Their dedication to providing the interns with something to learn and evolve from each day made this internship an unforgettable experience.
I am also especially grateful for the opportunity to hone my research abilities under the guidance of my research professor, who provided me with constant support and encouragement throughout the entirety of the internship. They ensured that I had the tools and feedback necessary for success. Their mentorship was something I found to be highly valuable and conducive to a large aspect of my professional and personal growth during my time at IWP.
Ultimately, my favorite part of the internship was the daily interactions I had with the people inside the building. Every conversation, both formal and casual, brightened my day and taught me something new. The welcoming nature of the IWP community made every day fulfilling, and I always felt like a valued part of the IWP team.
This internship was much more than an opportunity to develop skills, it was a chance to be a part of a team that inspires excellence and builds upon curiosity for national security and international affairs. I will always be grateful for this experience and for the people who made it so impactful.
