Louden HargerThis was the most beneficial semester of my undergraduate education for my personal and professional growth. I got everything I had planned to get out of this internship and so much more. The care that Missy and Inna have taken in putting together such a wonderful experience for us was something I will be forever grateful for. I got the opportunity to meet so many qualified and like-minded individuals and built strong relationships both inside and outside the Institute.
My work in the Events Department was much broader and faster-paced than I had expected. I got to learn just how much can go into a seemingly small event on the back end, from preparation to the final completion of its write-up. It gave me the opportunity to network with so many outstanding high-level professionals within my potential career sector.
Our professional development programming allowed me to ask questions and learn more about focused topics, in depth, from those who have direct industry experience. Through our briefs, which we delivered weekly, I grew more than I ever have in public speaking, asking and answering high level questions, along with being able to learn an important topic in a short time and craft it into a concise and digestible piece of writing. Leaving the internship, I now have a clear plan of what my future can hold and what steps I need to take to achieve my goals.
