During my IWP internship, I had the opportunity to do a significant amount of research on Iran and the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty, especially regarding Iran’s relationship with Russia and China. I greatly enjoyed the research group that I worked with – not only were they enjoyable to be around, but we were able to work together well and achieve everything we set out to do.
I came into IWP with some experience in public speaking, but over the span of this internship, I was able to greatly improve my presentation skills. This is largely thanks to the numerous briefings that we had over the span of the internship. I received a healthy amount of constructive feedback on how I present, picking up on aspects that I was not originally aware of. I was also able to refine my brief writing skills.
Overall, I would say that this internship was of great benefit to me, both professionally and personally. I have been able to learn a lot, and this experience has allowed me to hone my abilities in so many different areas. Public speaking, briefs, research, and strategic thinking are all skills I have been able to improve, and I’ve been able to meet some very good people along the way.
