My internship at The Institute of World Politics strengthened my ability to approach global issues with structure, discipline, and analytical clarity. Throughout the experience, I moved beyond theory and developed a more practical understanding of how strategic thinking is applied in real-world policy and security contexts.
A key takeaway was learning how to organize complex information into concise, actionable insights. Through intelligence briefings and structured analysis, I improved my ability to communicate clearly while maintaining depth and accuracy. This process reinforced the importance of not just understanding events but assessing their broader implications and strategic significance.
The internship also deepened my appreciation for the role of historical context in shaping current geopolitical dynamics. By examining past decisions and institutional developments, I became more effective at analyzing present-day challenges and anticipating potential outcomes. Overall, this experience strengthened my research, writing, and critical thinking skills while reinforcing my interest in global affairs and strategic analysis. It provided a strong foundation that I will continue to build on in both my academic and professional pursuits!
