IWP student publishes issue brief on the former Soviet Union

IWP student and Kosciuszko Chair research assistant, Pawel Styrna, recently published an issue brief on the former Soviet Union twenty years after the implosion of the USSR for the Selous Foundation for Public Policy Research (SFPPR).

The issue brief focuses on the flawed and incomplete process of post-communist transformation in former Soviet Bloc states and the multiple continuities and pathologies inherited from the communist system. Mr. Styrna also analyzes the neoimperial resurgence of post-Soviet Russia under Vladimir Putin and the Kremlin’s geopolitical aims.
