Cyber Intelligence Initiative holds event at Santa Clara University School of Engineering

Santa Clara Ci2 Event

On May 3, The Institute of World Politics (IWP)'s Cyber Intelligence Initiative (Ci2) sponsored a half day seminar at Santa Clara University's (SCU) School of Engineering. The seminar instructed attendees on how to develop a cyber intelligence strategy, understand how cybersecurity fits into business and organizational processes, and learn about cyber insurance.

The event began with a talk by IWP Senior Vice President for Cyber Intelligence, Dean Lane, who discussed "Cyber Intelligence: A Different Lens."

Joe Billingsley, an instructor and advisory board member with Ci2 and founder of the Military Cyber Professionals Association, gave a talk on "Trump and Cyber Conflict: An Evidence-Based Discussion." Another Ci2 advisory board member, Sam Chughtai, also gave remarks. Mr. Chughtai is currently a professor at the Washington School of Innovation.  Additionally, he is the chair of the Emerging Technology and Cyber Security Leadership Council. Ethan Burger, also a Ci2 instructor and advisory board member, as well as an international attorney and educator with a background in cybersecurity, discussed "Cyber Insurance."

The event ended with a luncheon discussion with IWP Vice Chairman John Lovewell, on "Cyber Intelligence as an Instrument of Statecraft and Grand Strategy."
