IWP marks Silver Anniversary with gala celebration

Silver Anniversary Gala 444x718The Institute of World Politics celebrated 25 years of education for the next generation of leaders with its Silver Anniversary Gala and Chancellor's Dinner on October, 14, 2015.

The event was held at the Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City, with over 400 guests in attendance.  It featured FOX News national security analyst, KT McFarland, as the Master of Ceremonies, and Lt. General Michael T. Flynn, former Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, as the event's keynote speaker.

Award-winning Nashville singer-songwriter and a decorated combat veteran with the elite 75th Ranger Regiment special operations unit, Keni Thomas, performed as the gala's headlining entertainment.

The Institute of World Politics is the nation's only graduate school that systematically teaches all the arts of statecraft, while developing leaders with a sound understanding of international realities and the ethical conduct of statecraft.

During the gala, IWP announced its new chancellor, R. James Woolsey, former Director of Central Intelligence. 

IWP Vice Chairman John Lovewell was awarded a Doctorate of Laws Honoris Causa. Bernadette Smith, wife of IWP Chairman Owen Smith and daughter of former Director of Central Intelligence William Casey, presented LTG Michael Flynn with the William J. Casey Medal of Honor.
