IWP career counselor Derrick Dortch hosted a live online discussion November 3, on the WashingtonPost.com.
The subject was on “Applying for Government and Security-Related Jobs.” His discussion, called Jobs Live, is a regular monthly feature on the WashingtonPost.com.

Formerly assistant director of Georgetown University’s MBNA Career Education Center and a career counselor with the US Coast Guard auxiliary, Mr. Dortch is President of The Diversa Group, a career, leadership, and organizational consulting company.
At IWP he offers career counseling, job and internship search advice, resume writing and editing, and interview preparation. He has also set up networks and employment opportunities for students with government agencies, non-profits, non-governmental organizations and private companies. And he hosts career workshops, which he has been doing since 2004.
Mr. Dortch’s office hours are Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:00-6:00 p.m. His office is located on the second floor of the main building.
