CH (COL) Alan F. Pomaville, 2013-14 IWP US Army War College Fellow, completed a paper during his fellowship entitled: “Religious Advisement: Impact of Religion on Military Operations and Strategic Implications.”
In his paper, CH Pomaville examines the impact of religion on military operations, and how religious advisement can contribute to winning the current battle of ideas against religiously motivated violent extremism. Also, this paper provides research on religious advisement to Commanders by senior Chaplains to evaluate their effectiveness at influencing both the operational environment and national strategy, with special attention to implementing the new Regionally Aligned Forces (RAF) mission.
