Despite the meticulous examination of the 2010 elections by pundits across the nation, a noteworthy fact remains under-reported: two IWP students have been seeking party nominations in order to run in contests for seats in the U.S. House of Representatives this November.
William Trower Russell, a retired military officer who studied at IWP before leaving the U.S. Army, narrowly lost the primary election for the Republican Party in the 12th Congressional District of Pennsylvania on Tuesday, May 18. Please click here for a full story.

In reviewing the primary election results, IWP Dean Marek Jan Chodakiewicz had this to say: “Since IWP is proud to be an independent, non-partisan educational institution, we would never adopt a partisan political position or endorse a candidate, but as a historian and a voter I wish well to all candidates who uphold principles denoting compatibility and continuity with the Western, Greco-Roman, Judeo-Christian moral tradition.”
