Two IWP professors – John Lenczowski and Marek Chodakiewicz (who currently holds the Kosciuszko Chair in Polish Studies at IWP) – have been featured in a Polish documentary, “New Poland.” IWP Professor Emeritus, Herbert Romerstein, is also in the documentary.
The groundbreaking film discusses the high degree of communist penetration of the Roosevelt administration during World War II. Further, the documentary addresses the roles of such Polish-born communist agents of influence as propagandist Boleslaw “Bill” Gebert and economist Oskar Lange. Soviet agents thus influenced both official U.S. policy and the attitudes of the American public. Undoubtedly, this faciliated the communist occupation of Poland and half of Europe.
