Dear Friends of IWP,
Thank you to all who gave towards the Army Ten Miler Challenge 2011 at IWP! Everyone at IWP echoes Dr. Tierney’s feeling of pride toward our colleagues, alumni and students, and we are especially appreciative of your donations for student lectures and technology at IWP.
The race went well this past Sunday, with at least three IWP runners improving their times from last year.
IWP Statesmen:
Director of Student Affairs and Assistant Dean Jason Johnsrud finished in 1:20:56, just 20 seconds off his pace from last year, and Vice President for Finance and Administration Jim Holmes finished almost two minutes faster with a time of 1:44:42. Jim Abernathy, husband of Director of Financial Aid Ingrid Abernathy and the third Statesmen team member to finish, was just three minutes slower than last year, despite battling several injuries this year.
IWP Diplomats:
Congratulations to Ben Crombe, husband of student Katie Crombe, who finished faster than last year, with a great time of 1:22:15, and to student Derrick Shaw, who finished soon thereafter with a time of 1:24:30. Alumnus Lance Mogard finished in 1:15:46 which, like Jim, was almost two minutes faster than his time last year. And THE fastest finisher of both teams was student Tucker McCormack, who came in at 1:14:54, which is a 7:29 minutes per mile pace!
Thank you to all the runners who ran this race to help raise money for the Institute’s student services.
If you have not yet given, we still need your help in reaching $25,000! Whether $10 or $10,000, each gift is important to us. Please click here to donate.
Sincerely,
Tricia Lloyd
Vice President for Institutional Advancement
