IWP welcomes three new staff members

Three individuals have recently joined IWP’s professional staff: LaNae Herrera, Director of Financial Aid; Whitney Athayde, Director of Development; and Elaine Pinder, Director of Financial Operations.

LaNae most recently served as Director of Financial Services at Claremont School of Theology. She has been involved in financial aid at various schools since 1999, and holds a Master’s of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in accounting and information technology. She is a veteran of the Gulf War and the US Air Force Reserve, and is originally from Baltimore, MD.

Whitney comes to IWP after serving as Director of Development at The American Spectator for over two years, which was preceded by working at The Atlas Economic Research Foundation as a development associate. She also worked as a Koch Associate with the Charles G. Koch Foundation for a year. Whitney is a graduate of UVA with a Masters in Public Policy from George Mason University. She hails from Arlington, Texas but hides her Texas accent well.

Elaine comes to IWP from Wilmington, DE where she worked for over 12 years as Chief Financial Officer of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. Prior to ISI, she worked in the bank credit card business, also in Wilmington. Elaine is a graduate of Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. IWP’s Executive Vice President, Douglas Mills, says, “I had the pleasure of working closely Elaine for three years at ISI and know firsthand that she brings excellent knowledge in nonprofit accounting and business practices as well as human resources.” Elaine currently lives in and is a native of Wilmington and will be commuting to IWP four days a week.

We are truly pleased and honored to have LaNae, Whitney, and Elaine join the IWP team as they each bring proven experience and expertise to three critical areas for the Institute.
