Rear Admiral Samuel Cox speaks in Cyber Statecraft class

Admiral Cox, November 2013 (3)On November 13, Rear Admiral Samuel J. Cox gave a guest lecture in IWP’s Cyber Statecraft class (IWP 663).  Admiral Cox formerly served as Director of Intelligence (J2) at U.S. Cyber Command, and just retired this November from his positions as Director of the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office and Office Commander of the Office of Naval Intelligence.

“Having the opportunity to hear someone with so much hands-on experience speak about the military aspects of cyber offered us a fascinating glimpse into a still-developing arena of statecraft and national policy,” commented student David Roush.  “It was truly a pleasure.”

The Institute’s Cyber Statecraft course examines the history and evolution of the technologies, laws, and policies that today shape the cyber environment, as well as the many threats – current and emerging – that affect the security of the United States.
