IWP interns tour the U.S. State Department

Interns at the State Department, Summer 2014 444x718On Wednesday, July 9th, IWP interns were fortunate to take a tour of the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C.

When the interns arrived at the State Department, little did they know they would get to explore the Diplomatic Reception Rooms, one of Washington’s best kept secrets, and see amazing historical artifacts up close and personal, such as the writing table on which John Quincy Adams and Benjamin Franklin signed the 1783 Treaty of Paris, ending the Revolutionary War!  The gorgeous vintage chandeliers in the Jefferson State Reception Room were impressive, amidst the backdrop of the 18th century architectural beauty of the room.  This tour was a real treat for IWP interns.
