On October 9, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld gave a guest lecture to IWP’s Intelligence and Policy class, which is currently taught by Prof. Dave Thomas.
Secretary Rumsfeld discussed his experiences as Defense Secretary and described how he and his office used intelligence to make key national security decisions. In addition, he answered questions about various aspects of his career and the policies he implemented during his time in government.
“I particularly enjoyed his remarks about his weekly lunch meetings at the Pentagon with then-Director of Central Intelligence George Tenet,” commented student Ann-Elise Quinn. “The importance of communication is important on all levels of an organization, but particularly at the highest levels in government.”
